(Reflection on the Human Ingenuity)The consequences of the changes:
The changes brought both positive and negative impacts to the people, to America, the world after the revolution.
The positive and negative impacts of the economic change:
Taxes:The taxes that were payed by the Americans were not kept in America, the taxes were kept in Britain with the King. The Parliament passed the Stamp Act in 1765, which required official documents to have a special stamp on it, which of course cost money to purchase. There were numerous revolts against the Stamp Act, many for the reason that there should be "no taxation without representation". Since the colonies had no representatives in Parliament, they do not have their full rights as British subjects and therefore shouldn't be required to pay taxes.
Great Britain, humiliated by the defeat, began to seek revenge. They raided American trading vessels and they created high tariffs for American ships. They also refused to sell British goods in America, which hurt America's new economy.
The positive and negative impacts of the revolutionary war:
The positive impacts of the Revolutionary War were that the U.S. gained its independence, Great Britain lost it's standing as an undefeated superpower, and democracy was allowed to expand and develop.
The negative impacts of the Revolutionary War were that after spending so much money on the war effort, France entered a financial crisis which partly contributed to the outbreak of French Revolution because of severe debt. Another result of the War of Independence was America was also open and undefended. 9 out of every 10 Americans were farmers and they had no navy and no army.
The positive and negative impacts of the political change:
The positive impact of the political change was from English rule to American rule with the drafting of the Constitution. The end of war brought independence for the 13 colonies. Almost as important is the move to a system with more separation of powers, separation of church and state, and checks and balances. Moving from a parliamentary system to a presidential one, and having an independent judiciary were new. Even though the colonies had always had a fair amount of self government, the new democracy became of model or source of inspiration to other colonies around the world who would later seek independence. Growing nationalism was another consequence. There was no negative impact of the political change.
The positive and negative impacts of the social change:
The positive impacts of the social change is that the women got more importance, women had higher esteem in that they were important for raising respectable, strong and intelligent men. They followed the troops and did laundry. They also stood by the men during the Revolutionary War and released the bombs. The women helped to boycott the british goods, such as tea and fabric. The negative impacts of the social change women still were not equal as men. They had different rights than men. Women wanted to play a larger role in the society but could not because they did not have equal rights as men.'All men are created equal' - abolishing of class system. In the constitution, it was written that men and women would be the same after the revolutionary war. And that was true because during the war, women were disguised as men and helped their husbands with gun shooting and delivering secret messages. Also the women got new freedoms such as having the right to divorce their husband, free choice to get married and they could work to contribute to their family's income.
